It's Not Me, It's You...

Morning All,

(Apparently if you only hit the save function on your blogger app it doesn't post the blog. It saves it. Guess who forgot to hit the little paper airplane yesterday? #Oops)

#boutofbooks challenged us today to disclose characters we hate. Since I'm going to get a little heat, I've kept my list only to the tried and true.

1. Kricket, from the Kricket series.
2. The Boys from the Kricket series
3. MR. DARCY (Seriously )
4. Amy from Little Women
5. Everyone from Les Mis

Until next time,

Let's Talk About Books Baby

Afternoon All,

Today's #boutofbooks challenge is all about #recomensday!! Picking recommendations for friends is hard, but just recommending different books in the same category can be easy...ish.

If you’re like me, you probably read a lot of YA and Mystery. Below are my recommendations.

YA:
If you like Fairytales or their retellings, try authors Rosamund Hodge or C.J. Redwine.

For a new spin on some old classics go with Alexander McCall Smith's retelling of Emma, Lindsay Faye's Jane Steel, and Curtis Sittenfeld ' s Elligible.

Mystery:

Should twisty plots be amongst your choice reads, then go with authors Ruth Ware and Mary Kubica.

Like your mystery a smidge darker and maybe more psychological thriller-esque? Try anyone Swedish; my favorites include Stieg Larrson, Camilla Läckberg, and Erik Axl Sund.

Until Next Time...

Meet Me in Six Words

Hey There Readers,

How's it going? Feels like I haven't said anything in about 3.5 hours. Haha. One thing I love about #boutofbooks is that they have these little daily check in challenges. Back in May when I participated in Bout of Books 19th readathon I had to do a six word intro, which I have to do again. I went back and looked at my May intorduction and realized not much has changed in the last few months. I'm still more or less the same person, dealing with more or less the same issues. So with that in mind, allow me a moment to rephrase my May intro.

May: "Reading and Grieving and Living and..."

Today: "Reading, grieving, living, accepting, hoping, trying." Also, "Do whatever. Be weird, It's okay."

Two seperate introductions, to parts of the same reader.

Until Next Time,

20 for 26!!

Goooood Morning Readers!!

Bout of Books Readathon 20 starts today!!!!!!! It has to be my favorite low stress readathon. One week to read as much as possible. No real goals, no consequences for not finishing, and no strict time line. While I love the 24 in 48, the relaxed vibe this week is a lot easier to schedule.

What's on your TBR this week? I'm looking to finish 1 audiobook, 1 e-book, and 1 print book, my own little trifecta. And thanks to my recent birthday, (I just turned 26!!)
I have plenty of options to choose from.

Until next time,

Tindrliterate

Evening All,

Today's prompt for the bout of books read it on it is kind of weird for me anyway. You see we have to create a literary dating profile for our favorite literary character. And after spending today thinking about who is my favorite literary character, I could only come up with Edmund Dantes; you know the hot smoldering Revenge fueled guy from The Count of Monte Cristo, yeah him.

So for better or worse, swipe me?

Edmund Dantes
Loyal, Ruggedly Handsome, loves to keep things simple. Fall in lvoe with me and I'll tie the knot, literally, around your finger. Likes to play the long game, our relationship can take a long time running, I'm good at waiting for, and getting, what I want.

I am so sorry for any one of you who actually reads this! I gotta do each challenge man!

Until Tomorrow!

Listening to Trees

Morning All,

Ready for my second #BoutOfBooks Day 2 challenge? This prompt was fun and a smidge challenging. We were challenged to share a book cover wiere the illustrations are part of the typography of the title. (i.e. The Water Knife or Mamita). When looking at the book cover, you just instantly know that the letters cannot be recreated by downloading a font.

I chose....drumroll please.......

Something cool....

Something different...

A book my husband would love...

Listening to Trees by A.K. Hellium!

The title and author name are in a sense carved into the tree rings that make up the cover image. While you can get close to the font, there would be no way to recreate it without doing the whole thing.

Bout of Books: The Readers Readathon

Morning All,

The time has come for Bout of Books 19!! (You still have time to sign up! Just click HERE!!)

While all readathons are for readers this one is low key, designed for you to simply read as much as you can in a week with no torturous goals in mind. Unless you set them for yourself. Do you boo.
I love using readathons as an excuse to tidy up my TBR, to actually start a book or get off the shelf, and to maybe tackle a different genre. After working all day it's nice to just go home and lose my brain to whatever I'm reading, like every other reader. Yet the motivation of readathons is great. I've been derailed as a reader for the past couple months so trying to get back to that place I'd been in for the first bit of this year is going to be hard won.

Bout of Books also has daily challenges. Today's was to introduce ourselves in six words, nothing more, nothing less. My introduction is simple. "Reading and Grieving and Living and..." I tweeted this and immediately felt like a moron, but it's true. At the moment this is me. Who are you? What would you read this week?

Until next time! (Which happens to be later today!)
